We must search within if we are to a Elven soul, within is a great treasure, within is inner peace and radiance not subject to the vagaries of fortune or ill fortune, not subject to hate or fear or indifference, to be calm soul amongst much turbulence and inner and outer storms…an Elf is immortal and thus sees everything in the world change around them and buffeted by the storms of life yet remaining quite composed, calm, tranquil, and fully at peace with oneself and others. We must purse inner freedom by disregarding completely things that lie beyond our control…our own mind can a prison, our bodies and its possession can be a prison….within is our bliss and joy and happiness…happiness is inner and comes from within and not subject to luck, chance, death, unhappiness, or rash emotion….or not subject to hate or biases or prejudices or hypocrisy or cant….
We need to be tolerant to others and their faults, but strict with ourselves. Can you see the healthy, natural paradox that we strive for, becoming better ourselves from within and not letting humans compromise our moral integrity and our own sense of wholeness and inner happiness….while being strict with ourselves and not letting ourselves off the hook or living up to our own moral standards and our sense of integrity or wholeness? Yet being totally and completely tolerant and charitable and virtuous and forgiving towards others and not letting ourselves take the low road but always take the higher road with ourselves and others.
