I think Tolkien’s Elves are Stoics and here is a primer on it. We need to apply Stoicism in a way that is consistent with how Elves are and we need to interpret it through the prism of the unique way Elves are Stoics and how Stoicism is only important in so far as it helps us understand the Elves and have a rough list of general virtues to apply to our concrete situations we find ourselves in and to fully understand how being long-suffering and inner beauty is key to being an Elf.

How can modern Elves follow these virtues and morals in the best way how? Are Elves Stoics? I think so! But what do you think? We need ancient wisdom to truly understand Tolkien’s elves and his elves are models to emulate and live up to, how can we do this? LIVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATURE. ENDURE AND RENOUNCE. VIRTUE IS THE ONLY GOOD. Do I disagree with Epicureans? Maybe I do, but what do you think? This is not about philosophical debate but about virtue and it’s role for Elves and it doesn’t matter where one is in the spectrum of ancient philosophy and wisdom, because to the ancients, different schools of philosophy are good and open, honest debate and discussion and argument is what philosophy is. What foundational is that we understand and know what is and what is not in our control, and also that we contemplate being a sage or ancient old soul ourselves…let us reflect every morning and every night about how we lived up to our own virtues and ideals?

Good travels and i wish you a good journey towards the Light…
