The Doom of Mandos

Elves can waste away from weariness of life and can be slain, for the desire to live is linked to their freedom of will and their ability to spread and promote inner beauty and enchantment and goodness. If those conditions are absent, often an Elf will die from long-suffering weariness of too much, particularly if they cannot sustain their nobility and grace of spirit and lack conditions of peace, harmony, and the ability to lead a good, virtuous life And Elves seek harmony with all, most of all. I have said before that being a Stoic is very Elven-like and being long-suffering and experiencing sorrow is part and parcel of being an Elven soul and this is often linked to them wasting away from lack of desire to live. an elf either seeks Enlightenment or awakening or ascension or they die…Elves must seek wisdom and love and goodness and virtue…or they die…to seek the Song and enter into it or simply waste away after a long lifetime…and the labors of this lifetime lost in time…woe betide the sons of Feanor! woe betide the weary of soul! woe betide kinslaying, woebetide rejecting the Valar! and woe betide shadow and the temptation of evil…after the kinslaying of Feanor and his sons, the Doom of Mandos was imposed on them and their descendants…to have spend time in Mandos after wasting away or being slain in battle, and to possibly not be reincarnated if having led a evil, fruitless, unrighteous lifetime…or at the very least conditions being imposed on their reincarnation…

Yet an Elf can always be reincarnated after spending a time in the hall of Mandos…and spend another lifetime seeking enlightenment and ascension and awakening…
